As a child I made yearly sojourns to my grandparents' home in California. Next door, in the middle of chest-high weeds, sat a lush grapefruit tree. The property was vacant; ivy climbed the walls, the windows gathered dust and grime. But the grapefruit tree sat in the midst of the neglect and despite it all continued to simply be fruitful.
As the youngest and smallest, I would be hoisted over the fence by an uncle or cousin to retrieve giant softball-sized fruits for our morning juice.

New faces of Gloucester shopping centre
Two people are celebrating after becoming the faces of 2012 for the Eastgate shopping centre in Gloucester.
After a successful two month campaign, in which time over 100 entries were made via the Heart photo booth in the centre, Harriett Langley and Chloe Versaci were announced as the winners and have become the faces of The Eastgate.
Throughout August and September 2011 The Eastgate shopping centre partnered with Heart Gloucestershire in a bid to find the 'faces' that would represent the centre.

Wicked Tuna star Nicholas "Duffy" Fudge passed away at the age of 28, the network announced on Monday.
A statement posted to the show's Twitter account read, "@NatGeoChannel and @Pilgrim_Studios were saddened to learn that Wicked Tuna cast member Nicholas 'Duffy' Fudge passed away this week. Duffy was the first mate on Captain Tyler McLaughlin's fishing vessel, Pinwheel. We join his family and friends in mourning his untimely loss.
